Small-fruited crops are among the most demanding in terms of moisture and nutrients. Their shallow root system makes the plants vulnerable to fluctuations in the weather.

The solution? Don’t look for yet another artificial fertiliser. Improve the soil itself. HUMAC® Agro is a 100% natural soil conditioner containing activated humic acids, certified for use in organic farming.

How HUMAC® helps

💧 1. Retain water at the roots (Water retention)
Most small-fruited plants have shallow root systems and are susceptible to drought. Humic acids alter the soil structure, thereby significantly increasing its ability to retain water. Create a ‘reservoir’ of moisture right in the root zone and reduce the stress caused by fruit drop.

🌱 2. Improve fertiliser efficiency (Chelation)
Don’t let expensive fertilisers leach into the groundwater. Through the chelation process, HUMAC® binds nutrients into forms that plants can easily absorb. The result is more efficient plant nutrition and lower input costs.

🌱 3. Revitalising tired soil. Have you been
growing crops in the same spot for years? The carbon in our product stimulates the soil microbiome, binds toxins and restores the soil’s health. The result is vigorous growth with greater natural immunity.

⚖️ 4. Optimal pH (Buffering capacity)
Strawberries, raspberries and redcurrants thrive in a slightly acidic to neutral environment. HUMAC® naturally stabilises the soil’s pH and protects it from acidification, thereby creating ideal conditions for nutrient uptake.

Dosage

Simple application for maximum effect. Apply all year round, ideally by working it into the soil in autumn or early spring.

Orchards and plantations: 350–500 kg/ha (or 3.5–5 kg/100 m²).
Strawberries: Work into the soil before planting; for existing plants, apply between the rows.
Shrubs (raspberries, redcurrants): Spread the compost in strips around the plants and work it in lightly.
New planting: Mix 100–200 g directly into the growing medium around the seedling (to encourage root development).

⚠️ Important information for blueberry growers

Do you grow strictly acid-loving plants (pH 3.5–4.5)? Given its strong buffering capacity (which shifts the pH towards neutrality), we recommend using HUMAC® Agro with blueberries with caution and only after consultation, to prevent the uptake of iron from being blocked.

For other small fruits (strawberries, raspberries, redcurrants, aronia), its use is safe and highly recommended.
