Lawns and playing fields face constant stress – heavy use, drought, heat and chemical treatments. Healthy soil with good structure is key to the growth of a strong root system. Without strong roots, the turf is susceptible to disease, wears out quickly and struggles to recover.

The solution? HUMAC® for Lawns is a product based on HUMAC® Agro, which has a high content of natural humic acids. These organic compounds improve soil structure, enhance water retention and aeration, and thus ensure long-term sustainability.

How HUMAC® helps

Activated natural humic acids play a key role in grass cultivation and offer a number of benefits:

💧 1. Improved water retention and drought
resistance Humic acids help the soil retain more water. By creating so-called ‘pedos’ (micro-cracks), they improve soil structure and increase the lawn’s resistance to stress caused by drought and heat.

🌱 2. A strong root system and dense growth
. These promote root growth and help roots penetrate the soil more effectively. This leads to stronger plants and a healthier lawn overall, resulting in a more attractive and denser lawn with a beautiful green colour.

🧪 3. Efficient use of nutrients and savings on fertilisers
They increase the availability of nutrients to plants. They ensure that accumulated mineral nutrients in the soil are utilised and reduce the leaching of nutrients from the soil, making it possible to reduce the application rate of artificial fertilisers.

Dosage

HUMAC® for lawns is easy to apply and can be used all year round.

Proven results in practice

In 2024, a demonstration trial was carried out on a football pitch in Clonbure, Ireland. The aim was to demonstrate how HUMAC® for turf can improve the condition of the grass cover in the long term. At the end of May, approximately 375 kg of the product was applied to an 800 m^² area of the pitch. The pitch was subsequently left unused for three months, allowing the activated humic acids to act undisturbed and form humic complexes. The result is evident at first glance and was recorded on 24 August 2024. The visible improvement in the colour, density and overall condition of the turf clearly confirms the product’s high effectiveness in restoring and revitalising heavily used areas.
